Debt Snowflake Challenge Week 16 Update

Welcome my frugal friends, talented tablescapers and from scratch cooks! Hope every one's week has been FAB! I am sadly calling this week 16 update the "without my laptop edition". I am setting here at the library blogging away. Not easy or fun by the way. But I am VERY thankful for the privilege!

Seems the 5 year old Dell passed on to computer heaven. He will be sorely missed. We had a good run. The husband says everyone had been telling him that I was lucky to have it that long! So...I will be saving for a few months to get a new one. Now, the old Deb would have just grabbed a credit card and got her a new one, Oh yes, she would have! As of right now shes not speaking to me. That's OK, I like the peace and quiet! (HE-HE)

So this week I was able to add $16.65 from the raise and $44.00 from baking giving a snowflake of $60.65! Best one in awhile. It sure will be tempting to raid the EF for funding the laptop, but I will be strong!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and enjoy the beautiful spring weather! I will keep this post short and sweet so I can use my allotted time to stop by and see everyone else! Check out Melissa's blog Moms Plans for Week 16 progress!

                                                            Happy Friday, Deb!

Good work on the snowflaking! My computer is dying a slow death too; I just use it too much. I am planning on using some of our tax return to buy a new one. How will you pay for the next one now that credit cards are out and you won't raid the EF (good job!). Will you save for it in addition to snowflaking?

I applaud your efforts for this 16th week! It can be a really tough challenge to not just succumb to the old credit cards, but over time it gets easier. We have credit cards but don't use them unless it is a downright dire emergency. There are times I'd like to just throw caution to the wind and go on a shopping spree, but I know it will be like having a bad hangover the next day. Keep up the good work, Deb! Slow and steady wins the race!

Thanks for stopping over at my blog today Deb. You're posts are encouraging. On our retired budget, we try to snowflake a little also by selling on Ebay and Etsy and a little summer business at the coast. You've given me incentive to put some of it back for emergencies instead of absorbing it in our checking account. Love your posts - I'll be following.

Hi Debby! I am praying my Dell holds out a bit longer, but I hear it gasping for breath!
As soon as you are back to tablescaping stop in on Wed night at 7 for Let's Dish. We share our scapes or dish collections, new table things purchases. Lots of fun! I will be waiting for you!
Good luck on the saving, I wish you well and an affordable computer. You must be saving a ton in gas. I almost cry every time I have to get gas!
